Emily Brennan, MS, TLLP

Emily, or Em, is a psychologist with Still Waters Counseling, offering comprehensive psychological testing, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) testing, and psychotherapy.

She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience from Miami University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Behavior Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. Em has had several years of experience working with a variety of clients, including high-school students with individualized education plans (IEPs), children in the foster care system, individuals seeking ASD services from the state, and people of all ages seeking psychological and neuropsychological assessment.

As an assessment psychologist, Em’s passion is helping clients to learn more about themselves – their strengths and weaknesses, unique barriers and talents, and their needs. Her goal is to give clients the information they need to connect to resources, improve their daily functioning, and move through life more easily.

As a therapist, Em enjoys connecting with and understanding her clients as whole people, not just the collection of symptoms that prompted them to seek help. Through the course of therapy, she collaborates in her clients’ journeys of self-understanding and growth, exploring how their personal history affects their current difficulties to lead to lasting change. Em’s therapeutic interests include working through trauma, interpersonal struggles, anxiety, and identity exploration, especially sexual orientation and gender identity.

Kamille joined the Still Waters team in Spring 2022 with a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University to provide individual psychotherapy and comprehensive psychological testing from the Saline location. They practice from an Interpersonal Process-Feminist orientation – emphasizing a strong and collaborative therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for change with an intersectional, anti-oppressive lens that values cultural humility. Kamille’s generalist training regularly incorporates evidence-based therapy techniques from CBT, ACT, and DBT in therapy sessions while empowering clients in acknowledging their intersecting identities, embracing the mind-body connection, and creating/maintaining meaningful connections with their communities. Kamille has special interests in providing affirming care for teen and emerging adult clients with BIPOC identity concerns (especially Asian/Asian American) and/or LGBTQIA+ identity concerns to address intergenerational trauma and internalized oppression. They also have experience addressing anxiety, depression, self-esteem, perfectionism, body image/eating disorders, grief, life transitions, and academic/vocational/career development with clients from diverse backgrounds. Kamille integrates and utilizes strengths-based interventions and play therapy in her work with children while considering the child’s long-term development and the important role of the child’s community of care. Kamille is eager to collaborate and learn alongside their colleagues at Still Waters Counseling to support clients in their growth.
