Kandiss VanCopplenolle, M.A., Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Kandiss VanCoppenolle joined Still Waters Counseling as a Master of Social Work intern in
September of 2017. Her educational background consists of a Bachelor of Social Work and a
Master of Social Work, both earned through Spring Arbor University. Upon completion of the
MSW program requirements, Kandiss was hired as a full-time therapist.
Although most of her training was primarily focused on trauma and attachment, Kandiss also
looks forward to working with those who have trouble managing their symptoms of ADHD,
depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship problems (including codependency), and
mood disorders. She is also passionate about helping her clients navigate existential
dilemmas. Kandiss intervenes with an eclectic approach, utilizing various techniques.
Consistently working from a strengths-perspective, she could be described as a “high-mood
therapist”. Psychological-education, motivational interviewing, narrative, cognitive-
behavioral, and person-centered therapies are the models which Kandiss seems to integrate
into practice most commonly.
Kandiss remains committed to providing a safe environment for her clients, offering them
support, hope, perspective, and empathy as they journey through their troubled times into
states of acceptance, remission, and ultimately, a place of healing.
