Maggie Hopp, MSW, LLMSW
Maggie joined Still Waters Counseling in September 2024. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northern Michigan University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan with a focus on interpersonal work with children and families. Maggie is dedicated to providing person-centered and trauma-informed care to children and families and incorporates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, art therapy, motivational interviewing, internal family systems, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy among others.
Prior to completing her Master’s in Social Work, Maggie worked in early childhood education for ten years and most recently served as a school social worker at a K-8 school. She is passionate about empowering children and families to overcome hardships, communicate compassionately, and find joy in life. Maggie’s hobbies include playing guitar, singing, songwriting, gardening, spending time with her dog, ceramics, writing, practicing yoga and meditation, and enjoying nature.
Maggie has specific experience working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, and those who have experienced trauma. She works to create an environment that is inclusive, comforting, healing, and inspiring, meeting each client where they are and honoring their intersectional identity.
